Question:
How do I frame my previous attempts so Insurance accepts?
Ok, so I have a new ins. company and I'm hearing that they really want to see a medically supervised diet. I have lots of diet experience, but most of it was on my own. I'm kind of a health nut and I refuse to do packaged foods. I can't stand being blamed for my weight or having to watch skinny people lose ten pounds so I haven't done WW or JC or anything. I do have friends, some with very good training who have helped me. Should I get them to write letters? What should they say? If I want to stretch, what do I say? I have been to lots of Doctors about my weight but they never offered to supervise me or recommended a diet or anything. I'm seeing my PCP later this month, should I aks for supervision now? I know others have been through this, what do you do? — kcanges (posted on March 9, 2001)

Someone correct me if I'm wrong but I thought when my doctor surpervised my
weight loss attempts he was watching my weight go up and down on each
visit:) Now medically supervised would be watching your weight while he has
you on medication right? I say this because in his letter to my insurance
company he says that I have been on a doctor supervised weight loss and
attempts with medication. He has never handed me a calorie sheet (that I
can remember) About the weight watchers - I never liked paying that money
so a girl that I worked with would go and I would follow along with her.
