Question:
Let BTC submit my case even though I cant go there for surgery?

I went to the Bariatric Treatment Ctr for my consultation and since then I have found out that My Ins. Aetna US Hlthcare PPO will only cover 60% If I am approved through them. There is a local Hospital here that has a program for this surgery and I have a consultation next week... The girl at the BTC says she can go ahead and submit my case to see if I will get approved through BTC, I am dieing to know but will this hinder my chances of getting approved through the hptl, or if they deney, will it end my chances at the hptl? If I go to the hptl for the surgery, they are in network and Aetna will pay 80% with out of pocket max of 1500.00 then 100% So I am going to have to go through the hptl. Would Aetna approve me through btc then deney me for hptl since it costs them more? Do I let the girl at BTC send for approval or disregard my case there, she said she will go ahead for approval next week and if I don't want her to, let her know. For what my opinion is worth, I think I would wait and have the hospital submit on your behalf. Costs vary widly, and you never know...they might be cheaper. I know it's hard to wait...have you asked your insurance company if they approve this type of surgery? Anyway, as I said, I wouldn't waste your time and energy trying to get approval somewhere where you can't go (they are probably hoping you'll change your mind and come there). Anyway, Good Luck!!
