Speaking only for myself, I can honestly say today was the first time since
surgery (6 weeks post op) that I have had a real burst of energy that
lasted. I do find that I have to have my protein drink as soon as I get up
in the morning, or I am really sluggish all day. But today I felt great-
maybe it was the sunny Oregon weather!!!

I too had no energy at 4 weeks post op- I was afraid to go back to
work because of needing to nap in the afternoon. I spoke with
my Dr. about my concerns and he assured me that at 6 weeks that
I would notice a difference in my energy level. Well, he was right
(maybe it was the power of suggestion) anyway, he explained
about how the body heals and that it takes at least that long
for things to start calming and all your energy is not going
into healing. I was taking my vitimans faithfully, and introducing
new things into my diet. Your body has went through a major change
and it takes some time to adjust. I hope that you are feeling
better soon, take care....

I just discovered this site. Wow! I was a full 7 weeks before I could walk
without a cane or a walker. I was at my doc's office last week and spoke
with a woman who had the surgery 3 weeks ago and she was ready to go back
to work! I was so jealous. We are all different. It was difficult to cope
with the lack of energy. It will return. Hang in there.
