Hi there! Maybe the gas is caused (at least...partially)
by something you are eating. As for me personally, spicy and/or
hot/spicy foods give me gas. I have to avoid them. Let us all
know what your surgeon says. (((Hugs)))

Milk, but not cheese? Sugars. Often hidden sugars are gas producers,
especially if you tend to "gas up" as they day goes on. Then,
there are also the sugar alcohols, "itols". Some cannot even
tolerate 1 stick of sugar free gum! One girl had gas for over a year, and
no one mentioned the itols to her. She was munching on s/f candy all day at
work! For some, fats will cause gas. If none of these are you, you might
talk to your doc about one of the antibiotics that is used very well for
gas. I have been using flagyl successfully for years now.

I don't know what kind of surgery you had but I had BPD/DS and was having
EXCESSIVE gas. It was horrible and of course it smelled worse than a
normal person's gas. When I went for my last check-up I told my doctor
about it and he said since I only had one BM with that much gas something
else must be going on and he prescribed antibiotics and they have worked so
far-only been on them 6 days. He may prescribe a low dose daily to keep
this under control. I am 20 months post-op and this should have been better
long before now. Hopes this helps.
