Question:
What am I up against? Anyone know..........
Government Employee's Hospital Assoc has been my insurance for many years. — Patricia McMillan G. (posted on January 25, 2001)

I have GEHA and had no problems getting pre-approved. I sent them a letter
along with 10-years of medical records from my PCP that illustrated my
weight loss attempts. I sent all of this to them the week before Chirstmas
and by January 9 they had called saying that the approval letter was on
it's way. Well, neither I nor the surgeon have every received the letter,
but GEHA promptly faxed a copy to me last week when I called.

I've had GEHA High Option insurance for several years and my surgeon put in
for approval for the BPD/DS. He had a weight loss history back to when I
was a teenager, along with limited documentation on co-morbidities. My BMI
is 55, with type II diabetes, high blood pressure, edema. The approval
letter was dated 4 business days later. He will also take out my appendix
(don't have my gall bladder anymore). I was expecting a much more difficult
time, especially with having the duodenal switch, but it didn't happen!
[NOTE: As far as I know this insurance is only available to Federal
Employees and Retirees.]

and she currently has mailed a letter to the insurance commisioner, now
rather we will get any where or not.. Has any one had GEHA Insur,???
