Question:
how do you remove bile stains from carpet when you do not reach the bathroom in time
I feel like a badly trained puppy. I got home from the hospital yesterday, and this morning left a train across the carpet getting to the bathroom. How do I remove these dark stains? Has anyone else done this? — kate L. (posted on November 2, 2000)

I found this info at www.askjeeves.com and I hope it is helpful to you.

Blot stain using soft, white, absorbent
material

Scrape and remove excessive stain using a blunt spatula or spoon.
Never use a knife because it might harm the fibers.

Mix half a teaspoon of an enzyme detergent with one cup of warm
water. Apply it to the stain and leave for 5-10 minutes for best results.
Rinse with warm water. You may have to rinse it several times to completely
remove the residues.

Mix two tablespoons of household ammonia in one cup of water.
Apply it to the stain and leave it for less than a minute. Blot using soft,
absorbent, white material such as paper towel or napkin.

Mix 1/3 cup of white vinegar to 2/3 cup of water. Apply it to the
stain and leave it for less than a minute. Blot using soft, absorbent,
white material such as paper towel or napkin.

I found a product called SPOT SHOT at Wal-Mart. It is in a blue/silver can
with orange top in the cleaning area. I first found it when I dropped
cranberry juice on the white carpet. Spray the area real well and let it
soak down in. Then take paper towel and push down, lift up on the paper
towel over the stain, change to clean papertowel often, you may need to
give it another squirt but this is by far the best stain remover for
anything. Remember don't rub the paper towel over the area, just pat up
and down until the paper picks up the mess.

luckily for me, my accidents happened on the bathroom tile floor. I am 3
weeks post op and have had 3 accidents. the first 2 were the day I came
home from the hospital and the next was the day after that. I have been
fine since then except the other day it happened again. It clears up alot
once you are off the liquid diet. My advice is that if you think you may
have to pass gas, assume it it not gas and go to the bathroom. Also you get
better at telling that something is afoot after awhile

thanks to a dog and an elderly father, I know how to answer this one even
though I haven't had such a problem (yet). A bottle of Resolve Carpet
Cleaner Spray and a Hoover SteamVac Jr. (or one of those baby Bissel's).
the vac holds a gallon of water, the hose has a button that sprays the
carpet on the spot and then vacuum to remove the water, Resolve and bile
stain. Keep water spraying and vacuuming until clear. Usually about 5-6
passes. Works like a charm! Good Luck!

Hello,
Well, as a matter of fact you can go to the pet store and buy a cleaner for
just that reason. I use a product called, "Simple Solutions" in a
spray bottle. It not only removes the stain, it neutralizes and removes all
traces of odor.
Espcially since I bought a puppy last year, I have new carpet and I have a
new grandbaby, too. I just figured if it got out those puppy stains out it
could clean anything and everything and it does! Just spray on wait 5
minutes and BLOT off. You may have to reapply, but it will work. Remember:
DO NOT RUB.
Good Luck and God Bless..
