Question:
has anyone used protein 95 ? There are so many choices of different kinds of protein

drinks. I am scheduled for surgery rny on 9-12-00. I'm trying to stock up on items I need. I couldn't find the protein drink that's like kool-aid. Does anyone know the name? Can I mix them with milk? Any input would be appreicated. Thank You. Christine — Christine H. (posted on September 2, 2000)

Hi Christine, I found great stuff at Michelle Curran's site: www.VitaLady.com She offers one called Extreme Pure Pro that reminds me of kool aid. It comes in Grape and Tropical Punch. So far I've only tried the Grape. I ordered a bunch of samples from her for about $50. Basically, I got one of everything. I wanted to try out what my options were before buying a larger quantity. I'm pretty much mixing these all with water instead of milk...a lot cheaper calorie-wise. I hope this helps! Good Luck!

Protein 95 is soy, so you might find it a bit gritty. It's a perfectly good proein, and not bad calorie-wise mixed with a sugar free juice, like Crystal Light. There are several "juice type" drinks. The rather sweet ones are bottles and are Pure Pro, Pure Protein and ION X. They require 22 oz per serving, so might be a bit tough on a fresh post-op. The Extreme Pure Pro powders are the ones that taste like Crystal Light and are not everywhere yet. They're a fairly new product on the market and many retrailers won't carry 'em because they're a bit pricey, in comparison. Pretty much any of the toher whey proteins will mix nicely with water or Crystal Light. Milk (even skim) contains 12g of sugar per serving, so you'll be pounds lost beetter off if yu just skip the milk and don't turn your weight losing drink into a weight gainer. We can't extract much in calcium or protein from the milk, but we will get 100% of the sugars. Your hint is that you never see body builders drinking milk to stay lean. Protein = muscle and milk (sugar) = fat.
