Question:
Dr. Provost: What is the Highest Weight for LAP
I have been looking through the webiste and a gentleman w/ a BMI of 49.1 was denied for the LAP procedure because he was too big. Does anyone know if 350 is too big to have this procedure done LAP, with any doctor in Texas or Dr. Provost specifically. — Zenna S. (posted on September 1, 2000)

My surgeon is Dr. Ken Champion of Atlanta, GA. He successfully does the
lap RNY procedure on patients weighing 450+ lbs. My pre-op BMI was 47.4,
and my daughter's pre-op BMI was in the high 60's. Our lap RNYs could not
have gone more smoothly; no problems, no complications. Feel free to write
to me for more [email protected]. Best of luck!

According to his website, the cutoff for lap with Dr. Provost is 350.
