Question:
Iron Supplements
Does everyone take iron in liquid form or can you also take it in pill form? How much do you take? — Denise K. (posted on August 2, 2000)

Most of us can take iron pills. Usually, they're pretty small. I am very
distal, so we take 300 mg to start. NEVER ferrous sulfate, though. That's
300MG, not mcg. The average iron in the store wil say it's 325mcg. So,
you need to read the back, in fine print, and see how many mg elemental,
derived from which source of iron. Iron needs to be taken with a vit C, but
not with any other vites or minerals (such as calcium), tums, antacids or
ulcer meds, antibiotics, or caffeine. Whew. But you just need to separate
them by 1 hour.
