Question:
Did everyone who has had WLS have the Sleep Test done?
I was wondering if everyone pre-op had the sleep test done prior to having surgery? — Heather K. (posted on July 21, 2000)

yes, I had to have a sleep test done, but, I am glad that I did, because I
was on a machine for six months before surgery, and I sure got some good
results, and some good sound rest, and I think that helped me to get
through surgery even easier. I had to wait a whole year before I was
approved by insurance. So, it was to my advantage. Linda

I believe the sleep study is only done if, based on your exam, your doctor
suspects that you have sleep apnea. My surgeon only does a sleep study if
it is indicated. I did not have to have one.
