Question:
I am 10 weeks Roux en y - Distal post op and my abdomin is so tender

and I have alot of swelling still from the surgery. I thought that the swelling would have subsided by now. How long did it take other who had the same procedure to get rid of the pain discomfort (I still have problems sitting) and swelling?    — ann A. (posted on June 22, 2000)

I had open RNY with an Ileum bypass 9 1/2 weeks ago. I still have alot of abdominal pain and alot of gas pain. My PCP gave me a prescription for paragoric. It works wonders. I no longer have major diarrhea, and I feel like a person again. I still have a g-tube, so I don't have to taste it. I visit my surgeon tomorrow, and I'm going to try to talk him into allowing my tube to remain a little longer!!! Good Luck, and God Bless You -
