Question:
So, I have received info about the Hibernation Syndrome, and I am aware of what may
happen to me following surgery with the fatigue and depression. My question is how do you all return to work after that? I mean, I only have about 1 week sick time and I know that I will have to be out for at least a month. isn't that about the same time the hibernation syndrome sets in? How will I manage to return to work if I am feeling that tired and depressed?? — enjo4 (posted on June 15, 2000)

I went through a stage of depression after the surgery, but about three
weeks post op I was begging my doctor to let me return to work. I was so
bored. Yet I was still score where my incison was, but I needed to get out
of the house. She agreed and let me return. My job is not one that is very
strenous so I think she took that into account

I have a sit down job for the most part. I went in the hospital on a
Tuesday for an unrelated condition. Had the surgery on a THursday two days
later and went home on the following Tuesday. I went to work that night.
Had pretty much energy though it was tough the first night
