Question:
Which is better...the transected (divided)RNY or the regular RNY with the pouch?

I have gone for my 1st consultation and have since decided to have the RNY.On my visit, the surgeon showed me a diagram of the RNY he performs. I noticed that the pouch was actually seperated from the rest of the stomach.When I initially did my research,the diagrams of the RNY showed the pouch stappled off from the rest of the stomach.Does anyone know the differences & benefits of the transected RNY? My understanding is the transected or divided stomach will not have the potential complication of a ruptured staple line. Me personally, as a compulsive overeater, felt it to be mandatory to have a surgery whereby the stomach was transected.
