Question:
Where can I talk to a doctor on line regarding a stomach stapling procedure?

I am very depressed I was on the chat line but I would like to speak with someone a one on one basis.    — AIDA M. (posted on May 27, 2000)

I am 5 months post-op today; down 82 pounds from the day of surgery. My BMI was 52 and is now 34. I live in Tulsa, Oklahoma and the surgeon I ultimately chose is in Raleigh, North Carolina. I was not personally satisfied with the selection locally, or even from ajoining states, insofar as bariatric surgeons. No offense, it just seemed there should be a better choice for me. I emailed the Raleigh surgeon and we met on line. I was able to learn the answers to most of my questions at his web site (www.clos.net). The two times I had questions that I felt were not addressed I emailed him or talked in real-time with instant messanger. Both times I caught him on-line were on Sunday afternoons. His email address is [email protected] (Robert Rutledge, M.D., F.A.C.S). Good luck in your journey! Keep your chin up, it will all work out!

Juliana: I know what you mean Oklahoma is limited to one board certified bariatric surgeon and he is in Tulsa and was not my choice either after a brief conversation with their office I decided to look else where..I went to Nashville, Tenn., with Dr. John Husted and NEVER was sorry for that choice he was fantastic.. However, my very first questions that were ever answered was here on AMOS and with Dr. George Cowans in Memphis.. he answered my e-mails personally and answered all my questions. He was booked up 9 months in advance and after researching this surgery for 8 months I just could not wait any longer..I was then recommended to Dr. Husted in Nashville. And I thank my lucky stars ever since. <p> Open divided proximal RNY 12/8/99: Beginning weight 367 NOW 256.. Visit my profile page for information, links and recipes.
