Lenore,
The honest answer is no, not initially. That's why it is so important to
take a good vitamin & calcium supplement, and possibly Rx iron. The
good news is, the people who usually have the surgery are pretty well
stored up on nutrition to get them through surgery and those first few
post-op weeks. Good luck......Dani

With any of these surgeries with a tiny pouch, it's hard to get in enough
nutrition without stretching your pouch or grazing. Each doctor is
different in his approach, but ours has us on a high doseage of protein
supplelment along with the vitamins and minerals that normally would be
processed in the part of your stomach that is now bypassed. We never
"feel" under nourished, because the body is receiving better
nutrition than it was BEFORE surgery when we were perpetually dieting! My
labs were better at 3 months post-op than they'd been in my whole life!
