Question:
Does anyone have any information about the appoval process?
I've noticed that Kaiser Permanente has different criteria and requirements depending on where they are. Northern Cal has a set of rules, So. Cal- a different set, and other states, a whole different set of requirements. I am trying to have the surgery performed w/ Kaiser (my carrier), but would like to know what I am up against....please email me or post here with any information....no matter how small. I'm processing through the Kaiser protocol right now in Oregon. Their
criteria are very strict up here and as I understand it - Kaiser surgeons
do the actual surgery, rather than contract it out. I think we'll be
seeing more of this from Kaiser as recent financial losses from contracting
out have resulted in them closing a large number of clinics in the south
and east and in Texas and in making a policy to do more of their own
procedures in house. Just a point of interest. My PCP has ordered the
forms to be submitted to the Kaiser decision panel so I'm just waiting.
I'll be glad to post any new info I get or if I get a decision.
