Question:
the 3-6months with a dieti or weight loss program.
Has anyone out there not had to waite for the 3-6months period of going to a dietision to have the surgery and how did you do it I keep seeing that poeple that have aetna must go throught thiss process is there any way around this. if so how? — Bettye Jones (posted on August 8, 2005)

The only way we can get around that on medicare is if we can prove that we
have tried a doctor supervised diet in the last five years for a 6 month
period then you may be able to get away without it..otherwise i believe you
are probably stuck. But good luck!

aetna or not you have to follow what they asked of you...believe me it's a
pain in the neck..! they just want to make it hard as possible for you or
anybody else ..they want us to quit. i had to follow 5 long steps... month
of this and month for that... until you drop the program or finish ..!

Hi -
I have a BC/BS physician group that requires 6 months of nutrition visits.
I am ..finally.. completed this and I'm still going through the hoops to be
approved. There is no way to get around this..trust me I tried. Honestly,
it went by pretty quickly. Good luck!
