Revision to reverse? I don't understand. What are your doctors reasons
for the revision, how is it supposed to help?

Not sure what type of revision he's thinking of besides the one that lines
his pockets. Ulcers are not uncommon for RNY patients.

Are these marginal ulcers, where the stoma connects the intestines to the
pouch? If so, he may be suggesting revising you from the RNY to the sleeve
gastrectomy, the 'stomach portion' of the DS. The sleeve gastrectomy would
re-activate your pyloric sphincter and get rid of your stoma.
The reason that bleeding ulcers near the stoma are so common in RNY
patients is that the stomach contents are acidic, but the intestinal
contents are alkaline. Without the pyloric sphincter to retard back-flow
from the intestines, the constant pH shifts can irritate the tissues and
lead to ulcers.
