Question:
Has anyone heard about Humana?
My job just recently told me that as of 8-1-05 we wil be changing from bcbs to humana. I was doing good with bcbs, all of my appointments had been set up now that I am switching to humana I have to start over. LOL to me any ifo will be kindly appreciated. On a good note my emplyer told me that they don't exclude out anything, they try not to interfere. This was between me my doctor and humana — Big_Sassy (posted on June 21, 2005)

Hi! Dont know if this helps any b/c we are military, but we were Tricare
Ins and Humana took over almost a year ago, I wasn going through the WLS
stuff at that time but other things and hey never denied anything. We also
had a number we could call and talk to someone to make sure things were
approved too. Good luck and hope that helps a little.

Denise,
I don't know anything about Humana, but when my school board changed
insurance companies I was told by the new company that if I was under
someone's care for a medically necessary procedure that all I needed was a
letter from the current doctors and fill out an official form that the
insurance commission provided. Check with your local insurance commission
to see what they say. Maybe you won't have to 'start over' after all.
Good luck,
Meta

I can't say one way or the other about Humana but if BCBS already approved
the surgery I would ask the surgeon to get everything done and you on the
operating table by that date.

I am covered by Humana PPO. They were awesome! In fact, the
pre-certification nurses called me regularly to get a status on the
progress I was making assembling the paperwork to be submitted for
approval! Once they received the documents from the Surgeon, they called
me within 2 days to tell me I was approved. They actually sounded excited
for me!!
