What is your protein intake? How much time passes between your meals, if it
is more than four hours try a high protein but small snack! Also, your body
is used to the level of exercise you get at work so you probably need to
get some serious cardio in (getting to your target heart rate) and get in
some toning exercises with weights. The more lean muscle you have the more
calorie you burn during your daily activities. HTH!

I've been stuck at 190# since January. I totally sympathize with you!
I've been getting 64 oz. of water and at least 60 g of protein a day. What
can I do?

change your exercise program. Just walking doesnot make you loose weight.
Start using resistence equipment. I suggest going to Curves or a similar
program that has circuit traing. Also use weights around your ankles when
you walk. That will help. Strength training is very good for loosing
weight.

You don't say how far post-op you are. I "hit the wall" at about
8 months post-op and thought that it was all I was going to lose. I just
kept on doing what I had been doing and eventually, after about 6 weeks,
the weight started coming off again.

My reply is to Bootie. You said that just walking (as far as execerise
goes) does not make you loose weight. I beg to differ with you. Walking is
the #1 execerise for loosing weight, and done on a constant, daily basis,
it can be your exercise for the rest of your life. It is adding to the
walk, changing up, power walking that strenghtens the walk and the weight
loss. Your statement was very, very far form correct.

Walking is great, but you need to change the intensity and mix things up a
little. Also add weight training. Having more muscle mass will raise you
metabolism and help you lose weight. B

Just a thought: you may be doing a lot of walking all day (which is great)
but is it on a consistent basis that keeps your heart rate up in the
"target" area? Giving your heart a good beating (keeping the rate
up for 20 - 30 minutes and sweating) every day is more likely to help
jumpstart the weightloss a bit. Just moving is good but working up a good
sweat is even better.
