HI,
I HAD THE CARDIOLITE STRESS TEST, NO THE TREADMILL KIND. I ALSO HAD THE
ECHO DOPPLER. IT IS LIKE HAVING A SONOGRAM.
NON INVASIVE AND NOT UNCOMFORTABLE. PLEASE TRY NOT TO WORRY. THE DOPPLER
IS SUPPOSED TO TELL THE DR. MORE INFO ABOUT YOU HEART. THICKENING WALLS,
ETC.

Hate to show my ignorance but leaving for work soon and dont have time to
look it up..If this is the kind of stress test where you just lay there and
they use an IV to simulate exercise I had it done..Umm...IF...she would not
have made me talk all the time during it , it would not have been so bad. I
felt a bit sick to my stomach and pooped out :) but been thru alot worse
things..Dont worry..all these tests are worth it hon..

I had all of it done. It's not that big of a deal, but I was scared too
before I went in. The thallium makes you feel uncomfortable for less than 5
minutes. You feel chest presuure like you just walked fast up a big hill.
Your heart pumps hard. The other tests are not a problem at all - no pain,
no rapid heart beating. They don't make you feel different. The stress test
is the only thing that stresses your body. It really is like running on a
treadmill for 5 minutes - but you are laying down instead. Then it's over.

I had a thallium treadmill test, pre surgery, First they put you laying
down on an xray machine and get pictures of your heart working at rest,
they put in a small IV tube, have you walk on the treadmill (until heart
reaches 160 or so beats per min), then the inject radioactive/or
whatever??? dye in the IV, then lay you down on the machine and take
pictures of the heart in stress mode. Thought my heart would beat out of my
chest, (I have valvue damage from phen fen), anyway its not painful, just
unfortable. Some people can't walk the treadmill, so they give medicine
that artificually makes the heart race. Then continue on...... No worries,
its not a big deal, just a pain to do it all, know what I mean?
