Relax, its not a problem. Do ask your surgeon and confirm they are
titanium, which is non magnetic. A few surgeons still use steel staples,
but thats very rare. <P> Incidently the archway walk thru metal
detectors at airports dont normally detect the staples but the hand helsd
wands can definetely pick them up. I was wanded going thru airport security
and lifited my shirt and explained I had staples in my stomach. It wasnt a
problem at all.

I had my Lap RNY on December 3, 2003. Since then I've 2 MRI's, a bone scan
and an x-ray. Each time I told the technician about my staples, and each
time they said it was no problem. Good luck to you! Sherry

Those staples are much too tiny to cause any problems. I have 3 stents in
my heart and they still do an MRI. I figure if you don't set off alarms in
security checks, it isn't worth worrying about.
