Question:
Do men have hair loss with WLS?
My husband is scheduled to have surgery in March, we're wondering if men have a lot of hair loss too like it seems sooo many women do. Also, have the men who have had WLS ever experienced a loss in their sexual drive....... — Heather D. (posted on February 1, 2004)

I had some hair loss between months 5 and 8. As far as sex drive, it's
never been stronger and sex has never been better. With my wife also
having WLS last May, we are having some of the best sex in our 19 years of
marriage...JR

My husband had surgery last April, and his hair did get thinner. However,
he makes a big effort to get in plenty of protein, and it has come back -
only curly now! No change in sex drive than I can think of. Things are much
better without the "extra person" between us!

My sweetie had surgery last May. He got tired of his hair falling out - it
didn't look thinner but there was hair everywhere - so he shaved his head.
OK so maybe that's a little extreme. As for his sex drive - his took longer
to come back than mine did (I had surgery July 02) but he had more problems
afterward - he spend most of June in the hospital. I can assure you,
however, it is back and so much more fun with both of us thinner.

No hair loss here. Although since WLS my hair is even more curly than it
ever was. So I just shave my hair close now. But no hair loss from wls.
