Question:
I posted a few weeks ago abut my TT, the necrosis and debridement

and the dressing changes that followed. I got some wonderful support, and I SO appreciate it. New question. Anyone ever had a skin graft? I am scheduled for one on thursday the 15th. They will take tissue from my thigh and use it to cover the hole in my stomach. I would like any info I can get. I'm told it feels like a burn. Will it make the wound pain go away? How long does it all take to heal? I really want all this over. I'm still walking like a 90 year old women, and am starting to have problems with my back. Also, I'm concerned about my liver, because I have to take so much pain med (6 vicodin ES a day). Advice?    — Lesa H. (posted on January 10, 2004)

I had a skin graft under my left breast and I didn't notice any additional pain. The skin was take from my hip during my torsoplasty. If you are worried about liver damage due to pain meds, ask your doctor to place you on the hydrocodone (the ingredient in vicodin) that does not have tylenol or asprin. I believe their brand name is NORCO. I am on pain meds due to nerve damage in my thigh and this is what my pain management doctor suggested so that we would not have to worry about liver damage.
