Question:
Do any of you use a corset?

I have terrible rolls of fat on my abdomen that really stick out under all my tops. I was so desperate to cover them up that I ordered a corset. Wow, what a difference it makes. Now none of my rolls are noticeable and I have a very nice waistline. I just thought I would share this with the rest of you. The more weight I lose, the more noticeable the rolls on my abs are. It looks like I have an extra set of boobs. Now it is all smooth. Well at least with clothes on. I know I am definately going to need plastic surgery, but with another 70 pounds to go the corset is the answer for now. I hope this helps some of you with the same problem. By the way, I will be 6 months out on January 1st and am down 110 pounds :).    — Stacie B. (posted on December 30, 2003)

HAHA...extra set of boobs..I've got a FEW sets of them. I bought these girdle type things from Walmart (they are awsome) They come up about 7" higher then a pair of panties, not only does it squish in my gutt (hehe) but also all the loose skin below my breast.

Congrats on your success and finding this wonderful peice of apparel. I have a couple of wonderful corsets and love the way I feel in them. I have also found a great spandex slip that I wear under dresses in order to have a smooth line and hide the sagging skin on my upper thighs. Corsets are functional but have a way of making a woman feel beautiful, sexy, and just a bit naughty.

I do not leave home without mine! I got it at JCpenney, best $20.00 I have ever spent!!! The one (well 2) I have are only about 8 inches tall, they go from the top of my panties to right under my bra. I tried the one from Walmart but it rolled down in the back (gave me back boobies), but the ones I have do not move!!!!

Hey thanks for the info! I've always loved corsets but don't think they look that good on me at my size. Can't wait to buy one post op.

Laurie, I ordered mine from Lovefifi.com. It cost 46.99 plus shipping. I didn't buy one of the lacy or frilly ones since I want to use it as an undergarment. I wanted it to be as unnoticable as possible. It laces up the back and had hook and eye closing in the front. My husband laced me up when it came in and now I just put it on and off from the front. I hope this helps. My husband says that I look great with it on. No rolls or fat are noticleble under my tops.

OK, what's the difference between a corset and a girdle? Where are you getting these corsets? How are they sized? I have rectus distacia (not even spelled close) (my abdominal muscles are split and I look pregnant). I currently wear a binder which helps but I sure would like my curves going in the right direction. I'm hoping for surgery for this in May. 7/10/02 370/220/180

Sunny, A girdle is sort of like a heavy spandex panty or shorts. A corset is much tighter. It is more structured with boning. It really does not have any give to it. You put it on and have to have someone tightly lace up the back for you. It will definatly hold in your stomach. Go to the Lovefifi.com or Orchard Corset websites. They have both corsets and girdles. You can look at the pictures to see the difference.

My question is a corset or a girdle? I wear a real corset because I do 19th century living history presentations. I corset is heavily boned and is made of cotton twill similar to duck cloth, you can also find them in silk etc, but they need extra boning to provide support. Anything made of spandex is a girdle. I wear a light-weight one as I am losing weight to smooth the skin rolls under slacks and skirts. It also provides support for a slightly sagging tummy.
