Question:
Stomache Aches
I am about 5 months out and whenever I have a stomache ache it is extremely painful.I dont have them often but when I do it is horrible. They were never this bad pre-op. Anyone else had this problem? Should I address my doctor? Thanks for all your help! — Sixftmommy (posted on December 17, 2003)

Hi Michelle, I just recently had the same problem only with me it was
constant for over 3 weeks! I an upper GI and an abdom. ultrasound done and
the end result was gastritis. They put me on prevacid and the pain was
completely gone by the next day and hasn't come back. I hope all works out
for you as well.

OH YEAH! These are worse than gallbladder pains. I think it's an ulcer but
I'm to chicken to be scoped. So I'm on Nexium. Usually these pains start
just when I lay down for bed. NO WARNING. The Nexium stops the pain QUICK.

I had the same thing - I thought something was drastically wrong with me,
but it turned out that Nexium took care of it. Actually, within an hour
after taking it.

I had about 2 weeks of stomach aches and found out it was h.pylori which
was cured with antibiotics. Had I let it go, I could have been in for
bigger problems. You should probably mention it to your Dr.

My bad tummy aches turned out to be from too much sugar replacement. I have
developed an intolerance for Splenda, which I used extensively before the
surgery with no problem.I can tolerate small amounts of Nutrasweet,
although I do not care for the taste. Anything with Sorbitol gives me
violent stomach aches and cramps. Needless to say, I have to limit my
intake of these but it is in my protien drinks. I am worried now that I do
not get enough protien because I am limiting the drinks and bars. But
certainly you should talk to your surgeon about your stomach aches.

From what I'm reading, these all sound like Gall Bladder problems? Do you
all still have yours?
