Question:
Should I pester ins. co.
I have been fighting my ins. co. for months and months and finally hired walter lindstrom to do appeall. He send the info to the insurance co. about 6 weeks ago and I have not heard anything since. I am unsure if I should call the insurance co and ask them the status or let it be as they only have 8 weeks total to make their decision. I am not sure if I should play the squeaky wheel or if I should be quiet and not risk pissing them off in hopes of an approval. Help Please, Thank You Becky Jo — becky M. (posted on December 1, 2003)

My humble opinion- you hired a lawyer- so let him do your talking. It's
also a little late to be concerned about ticking the Ins Co off. If you
think they like lawyers- think again :) (though of course- I do advocate
for your right to do this- I'm sure it was the right thing for you!) If
you're concerned about their lack of response- perhaps you should speak
with the lawyer about it and what to expect. I always find it best to have
the lawyer speak for you when one is involved. I may be speaking out of
turn- perhaps you have already done this. If so, sorry for not having a
helpful suggestion.

Becky,
It's really important to not interfere once you've hired an attorney. If
you want to call someone - call the attorney! Walter is a busy guy, but is
good at what he does. So, drop him an email, give him a call, whatever.
I used to work in the legal field (med/malpractice) and more than once I
saw a case thrown out because the parties involved sidestepped the
attorneys.
Hope that helps some.
Blessings,
dina
