Question:
I'd like more information on Dr. Huse/Indianapolis
My Husband will be having the gastric bypass done in March '04 by Dr. Huse. I was wondering if anyone had anything good, bad or indifferent to say about Dr. Huse and his staff? Especially the things that might have gone wrong.....thanks! — Heather D. (posted on November 5, 2003)

Here is his page from this site's database. He has loads of comments from
other patients as well as insurance information. Also, you might try his
message board and ask your questions there. Here is his page

I have only good things to say. My surgery is scheduled for Jan 8,04. He
has a very good reputation and his staff has been nothing but a pleasure to
work with(Melissa,Nomi are angels). You might want to come to the support
group meetings at St Vincent in Carmel. They are great for information on
doctors and the procedure itself. We meet on the 1st and 2nd Tuesday of
each month at 7-8:30pm. We also have an online support group that you both
are welcome to join for St Vincent Wls patients and it is Wlsindy.com. Hope
to see you post soon and good luck to both of you.

I am having surgery with Dr. Huse Dec. 12th. I am very impressed with this
man. He is professional and up front with everything I asked him. His
office staff is great, nice and very helpful. He has 20 yrs of experience
in this type of surgery and had a great track record. I am trusting him.

I had my surgery with Dr. Huse last December 26th. I found him to be
nice, highly capable, and funny in a dry way. He's very efficient, his
surgery took about 1 hr and 2 mins (I was 400 lbs)...which is good, becaue
the less time you are under anethesia, the better. His aftercare is good,
and his office is always very busy, so when you have your aftercare
appointments, plan on not getting in to your appointment until at least 1/2
hr after your appt time. I have had a great time. No complications,
haven't even been sick one time. The last time I was there, for my 9 mnth
check up, I asked him if I was a Prize case because I was doing so
well....he said No, most of his patients are the same way, you just don't
hear about the good ones.
I am so glad I went with him, even though the wait was horrendous!! I
wouldn't change it for anything. Feel free to email me if you have any
specific questions...or see my profile, I think I put in there what my
hospital stay was like.

Dr. Huse did my surgery (Roux-y) March 6, 2003. I can't brag on him
enough. He was very informative and understanding. His staff in his
office and at the hospital are the best!!!!! The best thing I can tell any
one is do what he tells you completely. The only negative thing I know is
that sausage is not considered allowable Pork to eat. They are not
specific enough in that area. Pork sausage makes me sick to the point of
vomiting so avoid that. When they tell me I can eat Pork I think all pork
but that is not the case. Other than that I received more information than
I could digest. ALso remember 1 oz measurement and 1 oz weight are NOT the
same. Make sure you measure everything so you don't over eat. I couldn't
be happier I had the surgery I have gone from a size 26 to 16 in 11 months.
