Question:
has anyone have an of their surgeons
warn against using bowel cleanser...i mean the all natural ones...has anyone ever used them...i am not talking about laxatives...i would really like to use one ...but i was told because natural herbs have not been researched on wls patients its not good. I'm sorry if this sounds simplistic, but if your surgeon warns against
them, then don't do it. If you want to clean out your bowels, then go on a
liquid diet for a week. Anyway, it's not good to completely clean the
bowels out of everything. Both "good" and "bad"
bacteria live in your system. The good bacteria is critical to maintaining
your health. Cleaning it out of your system puts you at risk for a number
of unpleasant and potentially dangerous medical conditions, and makes your
body have to build itself back up. Unless there is some compelling reason
for a bowel cleansing (in which case your doc should be monitoring it and
advising how best to accomplish it), I don't think you should do it. My
opinion, granted, but I don't like to see people do things that might be
more harmful than helpful. In these kinds of things, medical advice is the
best advice.
