Question:
The Firm
I had bought the Firm exercise system a few months ago. I have not used it a whole lot because I did not realize that the fanny lifter was so tall, and my ceilings so short. But I do want to start exercising, should I get myself into a workout routine now, before I have surgery, or wait until after. I am afraid of losing to much weight because I am a total light weight, and could have to cancel surgery if I lose to much. — Mini Gadget (posted on September 29, 2003)

once you are approved, I don't think you need to worry but that is better a
question for your surgeon/insurance company. I had 7 mos between approval
and surgery and never did any type of inbetween appointment where they
would have had need to weigh me.
On the Firm, you didn't really ask your question but I thought I would tell
you a friend at work who is very thin AND FIT (runs 10 miles a week, etc)
has these tapes. Hers are the older version but her comment was this:
"these tapes give you an amazing workout. I am always surprised at
how much I really feel it afterwards. Some of the women in the video are a
bit cheesy but don't let that get you thiking it is not a quality workout
because it is the best of all of the tapes I own. For what it is worth, I
thought her opinion would be good since she is so fit.

Hi, I just wanted to say that the best shape you are in before surgery the
better off you will be after surgery. You must decide for yourself if you
will do this or not. I am a lightweight and did not exercise before surgery
but was unable to before surgery due to pain in my feet and legs. Now I
walk more than 2 miles every day. Whatever you decide I wish you luck on
your journey and God bless. YOU ARE WORTH IT!!!!! Janice
