Hi, I have union ins, but got approved so I cannot help from that
standpoint. BUT, a friend of mine was denied by her ins and she had
several health problems. Her doctor wrote an appeal letter to the ins
requesting that she be treated for her diabetes and other health
issues....the treatment was to lose weight. He recommended weight loss
surgery as the quickest and way to treat/cure these illnesses. He
explained the regular treatments for these 'illnesses' and the time and
costs involved and the chances for success. He compared all of this to one
procedure-the wls. She was approved! Maybe you can get your wl surgeon and
pcp to go to bat for you by writing letters such as these. Good luck to
you.
