Question:
I want to loose atleast 240lbs. Is it possible to do that? wt. is 365 want to be 125
I would love to be my normal weight for my height 5'3" which is around 125lbs. I weigh 365lbs now. Is it unreasonable to think I can loose that much. To loose that much, what all should I do? What is the average weight lost? you can email me at [email protected] or post answer on here — Vanessa H. (posted on June 3, 2003)

Anything is possible, but my opinion is your setting yourself up for
disapointment with a low goal weight. I have a friend who started at 233
5'1" and is very tiny and is now 135, she looks fabulous, I can't
imagine her weighing 10 pounds less, she is in size 5. I am 5'2 and am
148, but am a size 8-10. We seem to weigh heavier since we have a heavier
bone density.

Hi, Just wanted to tell you that I started off at 347lbs and now 17months
out, I now weight 126lbs and I'm 5'4. Yes you can do it. I've ate 3ozs of
food three times a day. Mostly 2 ozs of meant and 1 oz of vegetable, at
that 3oz sitting. I have a snack maybe once or twice a day, maybe sugar
free jello and maybe a fourth or half of an banana or maybe a few slices of
apple or some kind of fruit. I drink coffee with artificial sweetner, I sip
this. I do take a liquid vitamin, Seasilver, which is great. I take by B-12
pill every day. I am very strict with my ozs of food I eat. This is what my
doctor told me to do. Of course talk to your doctor or nurse, this has what
has worked for me. Hope this has helped you. God bless you on your journey.

I am just over 3 years post op & I have lost basically 195#. So, just
short of that 200# number, but I am under the goal weight my Doctor set for
me before surgery. I went from 350 to 155# & I am 5'9. I agree with the
poster who mentioned that we tend to weigh more than we look because (as I
have heard...) our bones are heavier from supporting so much extra weight
over the years. Sounds reasonable to me. I am in size 8 & 10 pants,
which I am more than thrilled with, being a tall, big-boned, big hands
& feet kind of gal. It's funny: people who never knew me when I was
obese say they can't picture or imagine that I was ever heavy. I am still
getting used to being "normal."
