Question:
Water Aerobics, anyone? :)
Hi! Just wondering if anyone has tried water aerobics as their form of exercise and what their results (or thoughts) have been. I really enjoy the water, and was thinking I might like to go this route, but of course I want to see results :) Thanks to all who reply! — katia H. (posted on May 18, 2003)

I LOVE Water aerobics. I am addicted and go 6 to 8 times a week. I go
sometimes twice a day.. My legs are so much more firm since I started. I am
2 months out and lost 35 pounds. I am a light weight so loosing slower but
I also think im gaining muscle..I think you should go for it!! You will
love it!

I go to water aerobics at my gym anywhere from 1 to 3 times a week. I just
started a month ago but I can already see results.. my legs are getting
more toned and other parts are firming up as well. Muscle gain is something
that happens with regular exercise.. so you may "see" changes in
definition, but don't be looking for changes on the scale.
Just my 2 bits.

I swim laps 1-2X per week, and I see extreme results. Swimming laps burns
7 calories a minute!
Any workouts in the water are easier on your joints and are very good for
you. If it's something you like to do, you'll do more of it.

I did Deep water aerobics years before I had the surgery.I
am now (as of last week) starting again. I love it..no sweat, feel lighter
in the water and go your own pace. You'll love it too.

I'm a water aerobics teacher at my Y....My rehab from surgery started at 2
weeks after surgery and I've been kickin' butt ever since. I teach about
10-12 classes a week and my strength and stamina is amazing in and out of
the water. I have a very good muscle base now and am dropping inches like
crazy. Make sure you really watch your form..ask your instructor to make
sure your doing it right...if your form isn't correct your not going to get
as much out of it as you are putting into it. Water exercise is a GREAT
source of exercise for people of ALL fitness levels. I say GO FOR IT and
ENJOY the results
