Hi, Yes a doctor should do your surgery, my doctor does the surgery for a
bmi of 40 or higher and I have seen patients with a higher one then yours
who had the surgery done and mine was a bmi of 52 so just ask your surgeon
and if he won't then there are others who will. Good luck too you!!!

Mine was 62.3. Laproscopic may be an issue, but you should easily find a
doc to do it open.

You won't have any trouble finding a doc to do your surgery. My bmi was
83.6 and it was never a question. I think there might be some who set their
limit on how high but even with mine that I high, I never had a problem

Hi -- I had a 64 BMI and had VBG/Open RNY and had no problems. My doctor
was very cautious and I went through a lot of pre-op testing. So, yes, you
can have the surgery.

My surgeon has a weight limit of 350 pounds, but I do know of others in the
area that don't. I currently weigh 360, so I am working like crazy to drop
those 10 pounds!!

My BMI was 71.1 when I had the surgery 9 weeks ago. My starting weight was
414 at 5'4" so I can tell you it is possible to find an experienced
surgeon to accept you. Dr Julie Leverton at Bariatric Treatment Center
helped create a bright future for me. Hold on to your hope and know you
can get this surgery. Write me if you want more support or

My BMI was 82 and I had open RNY April 7th. You will just need to find a
surgeon who operates on larger patients...which should be most surgeons
since this surgery is meant to help SMO. The hospital program I went to
assigned me to my surgeon because of my high risk. That made me feel in
good hands.

Some surgeons won't do the surgery on someone with a BMI that high, but
many will. You may have to look around a bit, but it can be done. Good
luck.

Check out Peter Herida's profile. He had a BMI of 120.4 and he had the
surgery. It's all about the doctor's style and requirements. Good luck.
