Question:
Post Op: Should I have hernia repair surgery before getting pregnant?
I have an incisional hernia....my question is....do I wait until after I have a baby to get this repaired? Or do I get it repaired BEFORE getting pregnant? I really want to get pregnant within the next 2-3 months...but, I don't know what to do? I've heard from other post ops with hernias that their doctors suggested waiting until after having a baby to get the hernia repaired....Any info would be incredibly helpful...I have an appt with a surgeon tomorrow(5/7)Thanks! — Heather D. I had a hernia when I got pregnant with my last baby. (pre-op) I had it
fixed about 2 months after I had her. It was an epigastric hernia, and it
was this huge lump when I was pregnant, and it became quite painful. I
don't know what's best, but that's my story. :)
