Question:
i would like to know from people with very pale skin what their scar looks like after

a tummy tuck. also, have any of you used the scar patches by bandaid brand? they are patches you were over a scar to help it heal. i would really like to hear from very fair skinned people only. thanks    — franbvan (posted on April 17, 2003)

I had a TT in mid January and have very fair skin. The scar looks like a thin, light red line. Not bad at all, and is hidden under a two piece bathing suit. They say it looks the worst at 3 months, so if this is the worst, then I'm happy. I actually had the LBL and the scar in the back is a bit darker for some reason.

Hi, I had my panni in November, I am very pale, and that part of my body has not seen the sun for 50 years. The scar which is from hip to hip is a very thin reddish line. Every month it gets lighter. Good luck with your surgery.

Red head here. AS fair as they get. My horizontal lines are all but gone. You can only see them if the light hits right and even so, you just think it's your imagination. The vertical, however, well, I'm a keloid former. It has now gotten flat & faded. But it's not invisible, but that's ME. Usually fair skins are NOT keloid formers. Lucky me. The vertical below the BB is also faded nicely. It's just the "keloid" place that is bad.

My nickname is casper. I have a long scar that runs from the armpit to below my elbow, and it used to be red until I used vitamin E oil on it everyday. Vitamin E works wonders on scars!

I'm very fair - the type that burns on top of burns and never really tans, pitiful! Anyhow I had my TT in June of last year. My scar is thin, flat, very very light pink. Most of it you hardly notice. I do think your surgeons skill has a bunch to do with it though. Mine used an internal running stitch that the only place the stitches showed was where they were tied at the ends (about 4 places for all the way around me). I noticed in most of my surgeons before & afters that most of his patients had very minimal scarring. I was impressed with that and so do contribute my minimal scarring to his talents. Oh and FYI, I didn't put anything special on my incision. I followed my surgeons post-op instructions of washing with antibacterial liquid soap, patting dry, applying neosporin and covering that with gauze before putting back on my binder.
