Question:
How much did you lose when you hit your 6mo. post-op?
I am 6mo post-op and I'm 5'5, 27 yrs old, was 267# and now 158# (109# gone!). I'm wondering how much everyone lost at 6mo.? I want to know if im a fast, normal or slow loser. Thanks for the info :o) Good luck on your success! — Sandy M. (posted on April 8, 2003)

Congratulations on the weight loss! I am almost 5 months out and have lost
105 pounds, but I started out much bigger than you at 361. I think in the
beginning, it goes faster when there is more to lose. Best of luck to you!
You are doing great!

BTC gave me a goal weight of 134#, so I guess I still have 24# to go. I was
in size 22 and now size 10-11. People say I don't need to lose anymore
weight, but they have'nt seen me naked lol Thanks for the input!

Hi,
At my 4 mth mark I had lost 100 pounds. Started out at 254 lbs and wearing
a size 24-26,I now weigh 154 lbs and wear a size 12. I am 45 yrs old and am
5'4". I have lost no more weight since that time. I have remained at
154 lbs, fluctuating 1-2 lbs. up, then back down with out any change in
diet or exercise. I want to lose an additional 24 lbs, but at 1 year out of
my surgery it is looking like I am going to remain stuck here...I have
problems with doing physical activities because of prior back surgery,(pins
and rods).I also suggest you take your vitamins as suggested by your Dr. I
did not , and now have low levels of B-12,folate,and niacin. I am now
taking supplements to raise my levels to an acceptable level with my
pcp.Good luck to you as you continue to get into a healthy mode of life!

At 6 months, I had lost 142 pounds, but then again, I started at 427. I
think 109 pounds gone for a WLS lightweight such as your self is
great!...JR (open RNY 07/17 -167 lbs)

I think it was around 85 and I remember being frustrated cause it wasn't
100. But to those who do get frustrated by not being down 100 by 6 months,
be encouraged! I am now 5 pounds BELOW my goal. God Bless! Kim RNY

i had lost about 76 pnds on my 6 month mark I WAS A SLOW LOSER but I still
lost and still going cuz now I have lost nearly 135 pnds all together, i am
a year and 4 months out...I have learned something from this whole
experience cuz I was concerned as well about the rate and loss, but learned
that it dosnt matter how fast you lose it or how much you lose in the end
what matters is how you feel about your self.....be happy because your
doing awesome gosh everyone on here is doing awesome, im soo happy to see
everyones success and so happy of my own that it dosnt even bother me
anymore that i havent reached my goal in the time frame i had originally
set.....keep up the good work

I had lost 100 pounds at my 6-month anniversary. I started drinking my
protein (like I should have been) and have lost 25 pounds the last 3
months. I think you are right on track. Congrads on the weight loss.
Keep up the great work. Hugs, Kim
