Question:
anyone else having severe back pain?
I never has any severe back pain before surgery. I am now almost 9 months post-op and have lost 115 pounds. I have awful back pain!! I have been to the dr.'s office twice in the last 2 months with it. Has anyone else had severe back pain after surgery? Any suggestions on how to help it? Thanks — Kimberly V. herre is only a guess, but if you have a hanging Apron, that can be part of
the cause. Also, large/ pendulous breasts. Try this if that is the
case...first, make sure that your bra fits well, adn gives you good
support. Second, get a garment to support your abdomen also, like a well
fititng panty girdle. See if that helps. Otherwise, I do not have a clue.

Hi I am almost 7 1/2 months post op and have lost 105 pounds. I too am
having that problem have been doing ab and back muscle exerecises for the
strength. My PCP has decided to put me in physical therapy, the kind with
traction, ultrasound and theraputic message. I hope it helps,I am also
wearing a girdle on most days to support this nasty apron of crud I have
hanging off of me. I will be seeing my plastic surgeon in September for a
scar revision from my breast reduction and we will discuss the panni at
that time. I am also on anti inflammatory Diclofenac and that has helped a
bit. I suggest you call your PCP and see if he/she can help you. Good luck
and congrats on your loss!!

I am 3yrs out of surgery and have lost a little over a 100lbs. I have had
some back problems since my surgery. It hurts right below my bra strap
like there is a wedge in my spine. I have had every test under the sun
done, but they(the Dr.s) can't say what's the cause. I now wear a tens
unit for most of the day. The next step is to meet with a neroligest
(sp?). So I can relate to your back pain.

hi kimberly: after working in an orthopedic office for over a decade, let
me take a guess as to what your back pain is about... picture your
vertebrae, like little blocks, one on top of the other. the muscles and
ligaments attacked to your spine support your torso. for years and years,
they lived happily doing their job. recently, with all your weight loss,
the stresses on these ligaments have lessened. suddenly these ligaments
aren't pulling and tugging like in the past, and your vertebrae are
readjusting as are the muscles and ligaments... i'm experiencing exactly
what you are... that mid back pain, it gets worse at night after i've been
up all day. i'd suggest stretching exercises (physical therapy) or an
Osteopath (like a chiropractor, only better). i'm betting what we're
experiencing is muscle and ligament pain. good luck to you... :o)

Well I am 7 months post op and yes I am starting to have back pain. I've
told my doctor once and I'll tell him about it again next time I go see
him. I don't know what the cause but if it's because of my hanging tummy
and will help get a tummy tuck approved I want it documented. Carrie
