Hi Nancy. I also used dr. overcash as my doctor - you made a great choice!
I went for my first visit on October 4, 2001. Getting approved through my
insurance took until the end of January 2002. I called the dr's office and
patrice had his nurse call me and we set the surgery up through the phone
for Feb. 22, 2002. I did not see dr. O until the morning of the surgery.
This was after only seeing him for the first visit, so i do not know if he
has a certain amount of time "between" visits where he would want
to see you again. Mine was about 3 months in between. Just go to the
visit and he will explain what is going on. My surgery was one of the best
decisions i have ever made for myself. I started out at 362 and am down to
218 and wearing XL shirts and 18 pants and feel wonderful. I wish you all
the best in your surgery and recovery! Take care! If you wish to ask me
anything else you are welcome to email me at [email protected].
Take care!

That may be standard procedure for your surgeon. I know that the facility
that I had my surgery through (BTC) requires a re-consultation if your
initial consult was more than 6 months ago. You are already at 5 months,
and it sounds like your stuff just went to the ins. com....which means your
surgery won't be for a while yet and will put you at over 6 months. Good
luck to you!
