Question:
I have weird body pain
My body seems to be freaking out. I am 7 months post op, and I have lost 115 pounds. I am having these strange pains all over! I have read about others having back pain from the excess skin, but I also have pain in my side, one of my upper arms...anyone else have this problem? — Jennifer R. (posted on March 7, 2003)

COuld it be excess gas? I know I've had problems with pain in different
areas and it was caused by none other than a build up of gas for some
reason. If it keeps happening, I'd check it out just to be on the safe
side. I had back and stomach pain, as well as left shoulder and left side
pain and it turned out to be a perforated ulcer in my stomach. This is
rare, and not saying this is what's happening to you by any means, just
saying to be cautious. I hope you feel better!

Hello,
I had all of the same pains you are speaking of, after my first surgery...
The worst pain was my shoulder pain... and back pain as well. I asked my Dr
about this and it was explained to me that the positions they put you in
during surgery are incredible. I used pain meds especially for the shoulder
pain, I can remember the nurses asking me how my inscion was and all I
complained about was the shoulder pain, it took a while for that pain to go
away, I also went to a chiropractor and continue to do so. Be patient, it
will eventually go away. Do not be afraid to tell your Dr about your
shoulder pain and if RX pain meds help then by all means use them, don't be
silent about it, tell everyone, your Primary Dr and surgeon about this
pain you are having, it is important, after seven months I found out I had
eleven ulcers and needed another surgery, so please, dont be silent about
your pain..... Good luck to you, please email me if I can be of any other
help to you...
