Matt, I have also been on a plateau for about 2 months. Our weather has
just started to clear up so that I can start walking again. I seem to
fluctuate between a 7 pound diference up and down. I am sure that if you
exercise a little more that should help. I also keep my eating to 3 meals
a day. I found that when I was snacking, my weight would not move. Keep
your spirits up! I have noticed that my attitude is a positive one even at
a standstill. In the past I always gave up, now I just keep positively
moving forward. Good Luck and Keep at IT! Jill

I'm sure you are doing everything right, it just gets harder after the 6
month period to lose weight for some. I have had weeks-long plateaus, and
usually I will add a little extra protein and increase my exercise and that
usually helps. Even if you are eating alot of protein, sometimes adding
even a little extra can do the trick. Unfortunately, this is the time
period when WLS really becomes a tool. Switch your food up a bit, too, are
you eating 3 meals a day? Maybe you need 5 smaller instead, or vice versa.
A little change can really help sometimes. goodluck to you and congrats on
your weight loss thus far!

No help, just lots of sympathy! I am a week shy of you and VERY
frustrated. Went back to liquids this week.

I am pre-op and the idea of hitting a plateau scares me!! At my last
support group meeting someone was asking about how to start losing after a
plateau and the nurse suggested that if she was eating pretty much the same
foods over and over to switch to something else. Sometimes this helps. It
was also mentioned that trying different exercises helps too. Good Luck!!

I'm a little over a year post op and (dont want to say this too loudly lest
I jinks myself) I think I am just coming off of a 4 month plateau. The
reason I say think I am is because I have been going up and down a range of
about 5 lbs for the last 4 months. I do ok with meals, I over do my
snacking sometimes. I exercise pretty regularly weather permitting, keep
up my protein and my water. This week I have weighed consistently 3 lbs
less than that range I was on..so I am hoping the plateau is over.
Sometimes our bodies need an adjustment period after a huge weight loss.
Why this happens to some folks and not to others is a mystery to me. I
have heard so many say they are doing pretty much the right things.
Patience and persevereance are the key.
