Question:
ANYONE KNOW A CARDIOLOGIST IN ORANGE COUNTY, CA THAT ONLY DOES EKG FOR CLEARANCE?

MY MOM HAD A NORMAL EKG BUT THE CARDIOLOGIST ORDERED A STRESS TEST. IT SHOWED A POSSIBLE BLOCKAGE. SHE WENT IN FOR AN ANGIOGRAM/ANGIOPLASTY AND THE TABLE HAD A WEIGHT LIMIT OF 420. SHE IS 455. THEY WOULDNT DO IT. THEY ALSO SAID THEY DIDNT KNOW OF ANY FACILITY IN THE COUNTRY THAT COULD ACCOMODATE HER FOR THIS PROCEDURE. IT IS A SPECIAL TABLE. SO SHE UNDERSTANDS THE RISK, BUT NEEDS SOMEONE TO CLEAR HER SO SHE CAN HAVE THE STOMACH BYPASS FIRST TO GET TO A WEIGHT SHE CAN HAVE THE ANGIOGRAM. ANY SUGGESTIONS?    — christina K. I think that it's a terrible thing that you were not given any ideas as to how to solve this problem. I would certainly want it done before undergoing the WLS, as the surgery as well as recovery is stressful. I would get out the phone book and start calling cardiology departments in all the hospitals in your area. I find it hard to believe that NO one does it in the whole country for a large sized person. Are there any hospitals in your county that specialize in cardiology?? What about trying the Los Angeles area?? Best of luck !!!
