Does wls approval expire?

From what I know, YES, it does. My particualr ins. is allowing me 6 months
from the date of approval to have my wls done. I only have until May 30th,
and still have no date yet!! Better luck to you. :o)

Check with your insurance company because each one is different. Mine for
example told me that my approval was good for one year. Remember too that
pre-approval is not hte same as pre-certification. Best of luck - Janine

hi there :) i had hmo bcbs of il, and my referal for the wls was good for
up to 90 days, but on the referal, it gave an estimated date right around
the time my surgery had been shceduled. good luck to you! :)
