Question:
Does anyone have Private Healthcare Systems--MD Plan? If so, were you approved?

My husband has Private Healthcare, it is through the union thow (local
786). I had no problem getting accepted. I was even what they considered a
lightweight, I waited 1 week and I got my approval. Hope this helps. Feel
free to e-mail me.

Hi. I have PHCS MD Plan, was approved, but it was a hassle. Be warned
that their systems are not always up to date, and by the time your surgery
rolls around, your hopital may be out of network. Make sure you DOCUMENT
names and numbers of people who tell you that it will be covered, and at
what amount. Try to get it in writing if at all possible. If you need
more info, email me at [email protected] Renee D

I had PHCS (not the MD though) and made sure to contact them when I really
got serious about wanting the surgery. I did just what a previous poster
suggested, document EVERY thing. Be sure to include all names, dates,
times, the conversation outline.
As luck would have it, the week after I met with the surgeon my insurance
changed. Fortunately, their guidelines are the same. I was approved in 2
days.
Please don't give up and don't let them discourage you. I know exactly how
you feel with low self-esteem and the pain caused by the excess weight.
After surgery we will be back to our 'real' selves.
Take care.
