Question:
What are some causes of blood in the urine?
It's very light, barely noticeable. I have no pain and no other symptoms of anything. What could be causing this? Thanks! — Angie M. (posted on January 23, 2003)

A UTI. Urinary Tract Infection. Get tested. When my little one (now 9)
was little she'd get infections all the time and never a symptom one. Also
blood in the urine is something they train CNAs in nursing homes to watch
for in the elderly who also sometimes don't have symptoms and/or can't
relay that information.

I had blood right ater my surgery. That was normal. But with in a 3 days
the blood was gone. You need to see a doctor. If you ever have any health
questions dont be afraid to ask you doc. They are there for you.

hey Angie,
There a couple of possibilities. One is you could be ready to start your
period. Another is a UTI. That is the most frequent reason for blood in
your urine. Just call your doctor and have him set you up with a UA. He
can usually just order it and all you have to do is go to the lab. If it
is positive for UTI he will give you some antibiotics. If not, he will
schedule an appt to see what is going on. Good luck Stephanie Teal

See your doctor. Painless blood in the urine can be a sign of cancer
somewhere in the urinary system.
