Question:
When do most herinas appear?

As the months go by, am I less likely to get an hernia along my scar? For those who have hernias, when did they appear? Thanks in advance.    — barbara A. (posted on January 23, 2003)

I am 10.5 months out and found my Hernia about 2 weeks ago. I too thought the risk was over. I don't know for sure how long down the road you are considered to be at a lesser risk for a Hernia. I would guess it would be about a year after surgery since it takes that long for the body to completly heal itself.

I had surgery to repair a hernia 7 months after RNY gastric bypass surgery.

My hernia showed up at about 5 months.
