Question:
Anyone else excited to have armpits now?

This sounds funny, but I never had a "pit" in my armpit. Just a bunch of fat. Now I've got an actual indentation (pit) in my armpit and I'm ecstatic! I've never seen this mentioned here, so I thought I'd ask. Thanks!    — Angie M. (posted on January 2, 2003)

Heck yeah!! Im excited about my arm PITs. And I have collarbones now too!! And I also can feel my tendons inbetween my legs near my crotch... you know.. the ones that all the skinny porn stars have. (Hee hee hee)

I am thrilled to have arm pitts, shoulder blades, collar bone, ankles, knees - all those things I thought I didn't have. When I was just a couple of months post-op I noticed that my wrist bone was protruding - I remarked "Oh my, I have a bone". My two year old neice was in the room - she held up her arm and said I have a bone too. I nearly fell off the chair laughing. I even enjoy watching the bones and tendons in my hands when I keyboard - never could see them before. And, did you know that there are bones in the top of your foot? Surprise, Surprise!

I remember my sister-in-law, who has WLS a year before me saying,"GIRL, your're gonna find all kinds of things on your body and see things you haven't seen for years!" How right she was!

I love all the neat little things i notice now, but one thing about the arm pits- i have a hard time shaving them , i guess i need to find a flexible razor:-)

Not only the armpits, but the bones under there. So many times recently Ive had my husband "feel this lump, does it feel like a tumor?" and it's just a bone. Shoulder bones and the bottom of my rib cage especially. I'm having shaving issues too. Bony ankles are hard to shave! But I'll trade a few razor cuts for my new found bones any day.

LOL...I actually find it harder to shave there now! It's not such an even surface as it was before, but I am not complaining. I was surprised to learn that I have a very small frame...very sexy collar bones and neck. The other day a guy friend actually complimented me by saying "Paula, you have great shoulders". Shoulders??? Ha!! It's funny the parts of your body that become appealing.

i know what you mean!! i have new found ankles, wrist and the most funny of all----elbows!!! i have noticed that the more i lose the bonier my elbows are!! lets just all enjoy our new found bones!!! gale 3 months 67lbs down!!

When my collar bones first emerged, I fooled with them constantly like some kind of monkey! I love all of my bony prominences, and my wedding dress for next summer is going to show off my collarbones just wonderfully! I fight with my armpits, they are really hard to shave, and man, when my stomach was in the way, I didn't care how hairy my legs were. I am some kind of sasquatch or something, too hairy. I wanna get lazered. The only bad part about being bony is when you trip and fall, your bony parts hit HARD.
