Question:
I am 7 wks out from RNY and cannot tolerate any solids and most fluids.
I have had 1 EGD a few wks agob for stricture, to no avail. I am trying to follow my Drs. diet guidelines, but nothing stays down, not even jello. I have tried warm fluids 30 min. before eating, taking antinausea meds prior to eating, everything I know to try. I never attempt more than 2 tsp. at a time. Is there some trick? My doctor says to just give it time, but I am hungry! I had my water today and a few sips of soup, I vomited the soup. Any suggestions? — Kristenia J. (posted on December 17, 2002)

Gee...I wonder how your doctor would feel if he vomited 2 tsp of soup all
day long. This sounds more serious than your stomach just adjusting to
things. When you had the EGD did they find a stricture? Do you think you
may have another one? Does all your water stay down? I hope you find some
help with this soon!

Yes, I agree with the prev. poster. This is NOT normal. And you shouldn't
have to suffer this way. INSIST that the surgeon rule out a stricture
again, also maybe some kind of obstruction in the bowel. You need to be
treated. Don't take no for an answer.
