I started my period 2 days before my surgery, it was fine. You can still
have the surgery if you are on your period

From what I've read, it's common to have your period right after surgery if
you don't have it right before. It has no bearing on the surgery.

That won't effect your surgery. In fact the surgery usually makes you
period start anyway. Most abdominal surgeries have that effect.

I actually started mine on the morning of my surgery. And I asked about
that also and was told what's a little more blood going to hurt? So no it
won't be a problem just annoying!!

I started my period the day of surgery also. Pretty gross.

I'm glad this question was out there. I'm scheduled to get my period
either the day before or the day of surgery. On a good note, at least
there's morphine to kill the cramps!
