Question:
For those taking Orthotricyclin...
I need info on Orthotricyclin birth control pills. Are they absorbed well? I am 11 weeks post-op and am to pick up my pills tomorrow. I believe my surgeon's nurse is out of town since I haven't got a response from her about this. My new gynocologist doesn't seem to know much about gastric bypass surgery.... Those of you on bc pills post-op, any problems or concerns? I will speak with my surgeon's nurse before taking them, but I would like to get feedback from those taking these pills. I have been taking OrthoTriCyclen since my surgery 13 months ago. My
surgeon requires we take/use birth control for the first year. He said the
pill was the best form. He is a stickler about taking the right kind of
pills.
So I guess they are absorbed just fine. (I wish they were not because I
would like to be pregnant!!!!)

I can't give you information regarding the pills, but if you do find they
are a problem, a good solution may be the Nuvaring. It is not a pill,
therefore, no absorbtion issues... also, you can forget about it for three
weeks.. nothing to remember. Just in case.
